The UK's largest independent specialist in pressure area prevention and therapy is expanding further into wipe-clean bedding.
The Talley Group Ltd has purchased the Sylvan Corporation of Rochdale, with a market-leading range including pillows and duvets for hospitals and carehomes. The Sylvan products have been proven to slash hospital laundry costs, and will perfectly complement the Talley Group's existing pressure-relieving mattress range. Sylvan's technology produces duvets and pillows which are totally sealed, with no stitching, thus preventing any contamination from bacteria, viruses and soiled liquids.
This move is the latest in a year which has seen Talley develop its portfolio, including the launch of BlueSky Medical, a negative pressure wound therapy system, and introduction of a ground-breaking sanitising system, TECare™, for hospital wards and GPs surgeries.
In the last 12 months, the Talley Group has also invested in manufacturing equipment at its state of the art headquarters in Hampshire.
Kevin Mearns, Talley Group's Operations Manager, said: “As the industry becomes ever more cost conscious, so specialist companies must look to providing a more comprehensive product range, whilst also becoming more efficient and competitive. Sylvan is joining a progressive healthcare supplier which has invested heavily to keep at the forefront of technology. By taking ownership of Sylvan we are able to keep manufacturing in the UK, unlike many of our competitors who now source their products overseas”.
